Holyrood Palace Holyrood Palace, 1998:
Erin and I stumbled across Holyrood palace pretty much by accident. Well, we knew it was there before hand, but really hadn't heard much about it in comparison to Edinburgh Castle. Shane and I skipped it all together the year before, and Erin and I were tempted given that it was nearing the end of the day we had just finished a long walk down the Royal Mile. We finally decided to go for it, and were more than pleased that we did.

As luck would have it, Princess Anne was supposed to arrive at Holyrood the same afternoon we were touring it, so security was beefed up a little and we couldn't visit all of the rooms. Still, the rooms we visited were breathtaking. You almost catch yourself thinking "damn, the life of a royal must be cool" until you hit the part of the tour where they stop, point to a reddish spot on the stone floor, and say "Mary, Queen of Scots, was murdered in this room". Aye, I'll stick to working in a power plant.
