Holyrood Palace, 1998:
For some reason, the outer design of this building didn't appeal to my "hey, now that's royalty" sense.
It still doesn't. It looks more like the building of some hidden-away institution - like an insane asylum, or
a 19th century research centre. It's the inside of Holyrood that gives it its appeal, at least to me. That, and
the very cool stone coffins found in the back courtyard.
