Warning: this, and the following images in this gallery graphically depict a Beluga whale hunt I witnessed in September of 2002. Whilst these pictures represent a very real part of every day life in Nunavut, some people may not wish to view it pictorally.

The hunters continue circling the whale, which has now lost a lot of blood (which quickly darkens the water) and has slown dramatically in its fight for life.
