Note about this image:
Thousands of years before Resolute Bay was inhabited by its current residents (the town was "created" in the 1950s by the Canadian government who were looking to assert sovereignty over the High Arctic - they did so by shipping in Inuit families, often against their will), the area surrounding Resolute was home to a small number of Thule peoples. This photo depicts a site of actual Thule ruins that was reconstructed a short number of years ago.
